Seasons of Subsistence: A way of life in Aleknagik

The film explores the theme of subsistence and its deep connection to land, culture, and identity in Aleknagik. Through interviews with local elders, it shares stories of how traditions endure and adapt amidst climate change. Their voices reflect both wisdom and warning as the seasons grow less predictable.

This film was produced during the 2025 AHA (Anchored Histories Alaska) teacher retreat, with generous funding from the Department of Education National Activities Grant.
