Northern Lights: Inupiaq Culture in a Changing World

Norther Lights: Inupiaq Culture in a Changing World shows about the Northern Lights, the experiences of local and non-local (from the Philippines wherein theres no Northern Lights) people living in Shishmaref, Alaska who have witnessed Northern Lights. How if feels like, sharing the story behind it and encourages those people who have not watched it yet to watch it. The film highlights the power of people’s connection of nature.

This film was produced during the 2025 AHA (Anchored Histories Alaska) teacher retreat, with generous funding from the Department of Education National Activities Grant.
