Artfest: Sparks of Creativity
Artfest: Sparks of Creativity details the 2025 Art Festival in Wrangell, Alaska. Young filmmakers Avery, Jordan, and Nikki are all young artists from Yakutat. This film tells the story of Artfest- an annual art event for youth in Southeast Alaska- including an interview with Kirk Garbisch, the founder of Art Fest.
This film was produced during the 2025 Yakutat Middle School “100 Years From Now” youth film workshop, made possible with funding provided by the National Park Service, the Alaska Mental Health Trust, and the Alaska State Council on the Arts.

These films were created by Middle School Students from Yakutat, Alaska. Inspired by a community wide effort to create culturally centered land stewardship and planning, students reflected on important events and themes in Yakutat over the past 100 years as a touching point to express their hopes and dreams for the next 100 years.
